Sorting and counting objects is a great activity for preschool minds and fingers. There are endless possibilities to try. Here are a few good ones:
Pine Cones:
- Using sidewalk chalk, write out the numbers 1-10 on any cement surface.
- Have your child find and count items that they find outside, like pinecones, rocks, sticks (whatever they can find)
PomPoms:
- Using empty water bottles, number the bottles (any number will work, just choose an assortment)
- Mark the water bottles with different colors.
- Sort and count the pom-poms into the water bottles based on the number and color of each bottle.
