Excavation Time

We love excavating things in the classroom that are stuck in blocks of ice. This will keep your kids busy, entertained, and working on their motor skills all at the same time!

You Will Need:

- plastic containers, various sizes (able to hold water)

- small items (able to be frozen)

- toothbrush and/or paintbrush

Instructions:

In the classroom, we use different types of Tupperware with almost anything inside - your choice (small Lego's, beads, plastic necklaces, figurines). Fill the container with water and a few small items, and stick in the freezer. Once it's ready, pop it out and give your child a few tools - like tooth brushes or paint brushes - to safely work away at excavating the items from the ice!

NOTE: If you use small items like beads or buttons, make sure to count them as you go. We also love filling rubber gloves with water and fun small items as well. When they freeze, just cut the glove off and you have a fun, cold hand to keep you cool!
