Alphabet Clean Up

Celebrate Earth Day any day with this fun activity!

- Find two containers to be used as "trash cans"

- Then, write each letter of the alphabet on a small piece of scrap paper. You should have 52 pieces of paper: 26 upper case and 26 lower case.

- Crumple up all 52 pieces of paper and drop them all over the floor. (You can invite your child or children to help you crumple up the paper and toss it on the floor... you know how much fun they will have creating a mess with you:) The aim is to demonstrate what litter is.

- After all 52 pieces are on the floor, ask your child (or children) to pick up one piece at a time, open it, and identify the letter written on it.

- Ask them which "trash can" the paper goes in: the uppercase or lowercase one.

- Repeat this until all 52 pieces are put in their correct "trash can".

You will see how much fun your child will have cleaning up the "trash" and how excited they get when they can recognize the letters!
